Classic Baking Powder Biscuits

This recipe is "The Classic" recipe for baking powder biscuits. You'll find this recipe, or very close variations, in just about any book that lists a biscuit recipe.The variations will usually be - less flour, more or less baking powder, less salt, more or less fat, and more milk.

This recipe will always give more than satifactory results. However, I prefer the "Easiest Biscuits Ever", mostly because it is a little less work.


Ingredients:

2 Cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder (Double Action)
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 Cup lard, butter or shortening
3/4 Cup milk (whole, 2% or 1%)


Directions:

Sift & Combine, Kneed n' Roll
Cut into 2" circles
Brush tops with melted butter or cream
Bake 8-12 Minutes @ 450F or until tops start to brown
