Canola Oil (aka Rapeseed Oil) Danger

At first I discounted this material sent to me by a friend this link.
http://www.tidesoflife.com/canola.htm

But after some articles he sent me I can see it is real. If you do a search for canola and danger on the internet, a similar letter/article turns up. After doing a search, somehow, I ended up on about.com. They purport that it is a hoax. If this is a hoax, this is one of the most wide spread and commonly passed. Part of the reason is that many "so-called" health nutrient vendors simply post this without checking the facts. I dismissed it because the article has no external links to verify the purported claims.

Here is another version that looks authoritative, but is apparently the type of story about.com is talking about.
http://www.fourwinds10.com/news/06-health/C-harmful-products/2003/06C-02-09-03-canola-oil.html

Lastly, Health Central has a story about this hoax.
http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/16307.html

Apparently this story may have been mixed IN with this other story.

Then my friend sent me these articles.

Many of the articles that look like Hoaxes may have taken information from this article. This one is complete and makes sense.
It makes sense, but it does not references any online sources.
