REVIEW
What can I say. Big stars, big budget spells clichè.
Not to be disappointed by the expectations, the story, script
and screenplay were mildly tolerable. Followed by an excess of
"shoot 'em up" The dialog seemed to take a bad second to the
special effects and the character exposè was shallow, but
sufficient to complete the story.
In addition, the actors were put in odd scenes reminisent of other
movies. Dare I use the word "ripoff". Perhaps, as examples of
truely odd scenes Jolie swoop down thirty+ plus floors using
her chain link purse as an escape rope, ala batwomen. Other
odd scened for her were here holding a baby. It made no story
sense. She dressed up as a mistress to service a client, but
made no true conviction of character (ala prostitute doing her
job, hell not even a good power exchange client.) Brad had
his poor scenes, like one where in a fist exchange he is kicking
his wife (Jolie), ala "clock-work orange". GEEE.. let's get off
this clichè trip and get to the good parts.
Pitt's character is the lone-wolf company exterminator. Jolie's
character is the girl-team girl power heroin (okay not shero, please!!).
Sub-plots/messages include:
-geekie chicks are hot!! (They work for both sides)
-marriage can work, even after major deceptions.
Pitt and Jolie have mildly amusing dialogs, but the it could be better.
Special effects seems cheap... more smoke, flash and mirrors than
Houdini would ever employ, but the are mostly tolerable and do
add vaugely to the storyline. This movie while not great, is a great
example of the studio's desperate measures to make money.
What to do? Well summer is just starting!!!
