The Review:

As the movie title suggested, it was a movie about someone's mother. The ending was bland, but to be expected - as one exits the theatre.

The movie seems to start slow, but it is really the director and producer setting the mood. The impression is that this "mother" has had a really, really dull life. In many places, we can see her just taking the paces to fill her part in life. We get no clue that she has dreams, until she tries to counsel her daughter(sub-plot).

The movie plods along in a few sections, but is over all entertaining. The climax is a bit of a cliche'. The Heroin has a sex session with a dull fellow and she is not enjoying it. It is a mirror of her life. She does not enjoy it, but suffers with it - toget it overwith.

To be fair to the movie, the director and producer were quite conscious of every scene. When they want to portray a dull point in the herion's life, the background walls were bare and the audio was silent. It had moments of sheer boredom, but that was the feeling that was being portrayed.

I should note that Anne Reid did an excellent acting job. The other players, except Daniel Craig, were mostly dull.
